Christian Religious Education. I'm not really fond of the terminology, but I do so enjoy teaching Form 1 CRE. Religious education is required for all Form 1 and 2 (Grade 9 and 10) students, and it provides a good foundation in many Biblical truths. We have covered Creation, Abraham, and are now into the Exodus and Sinai Covenant.
The first reference to Jesus in the Bible is Genesis 3:15 (apart from the plurality of the God-head mentioned in Genesis 1, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..."). And His sacrifice was portrayed in the Garden of Eden when God killed an animal to make clothes for Adam and Eve "and clothed them." (Genesis 3:21.)
Of course, Isaac being a willing sacrifice forshadowed Christ being sacrificed by His Father. And today we went through the various aspects of the Passover and how each of them referred to the "Lamb of God."
Jesus is so wonderful. I really do love teaching CRE!

- I'm in the prime of life (50's) with 4 wonderful young adults who used to be our children. We came to Kisumu in 1984 to work in local church development. Over the years God has provided buildings, leaders, and a congregation of about 400, most of whom are under 20. In 1989 the elders asked us to start a nursery school which then grew year by year into a primary school as well. In 2002, Eric was appointed senior pastor and in 2004, the High School was began. Since I am principal of the High School and superintendent of schools, a lot of this site will probably be about education. But the church has many other departments as well. Eric is also regional overseer for 36 churches our Kenyan denomination, 5 of which are branch works of CCK. We are also members of Kingdom Ministries International and our second home is in the Seattle area where our sending churches, Christ Church Monroe and Christ Church Kirkland are located.
