This morning I popped into the staff room to find out what the news "on the ground" was concerning the teachers' strike. Still on, with the government talking tough. We did go to "home clothes" last week as a precaution against harrassment on the way to and from school, and it's been fun seeing the students enjoying this whole new freedom! I asked our teachers about the casual dress. Some thought it was safe to go back to uniforms, and we should because "it brings uniformity." But when they all agreed it hadn't affected the learning and discipline of the students, I decided to let them have a couple more days of creativity and individuality. Then they'll be back to the blue, grey, and white (see above).
Students are continuing to come one by one. The big push now is for Form 1 students (Grade 9). We need 36 students to come apply to our school in the next days. Thanks for your prayers.
